Dr. Mosher has been performing skin rejuvenating laser treatments since 1996, and he’s an active member of the Canadian Laser Aesthetic Specialists Society (CLASS). About the SmartXide Laser

SmartXide is an innovative version of a CO2 laser. Long recognized for their impressive results, traditional CO2 lasers were often uncomfortable and required lengthy downtime. SmartXide is different. While it still uses powerful CO2 laser energy, it’s fractionated — which means it’s applied to the skin in a series of dots rather than a solid “sheet.” This aids the skin in healing more quickly and minimizes the risks of affecting the skin color that was a concern with outdated devices.

At YES Medspa & Cosmetic Surgery Centre, only Dr. Mosher administers SmartXide, ensuring a safe, accurate treatment that helps you achieve the results you want.

SmartXide uses a technology called DOT Therapy. DOT stands for “dermal optical thermolysis,” and it’s part of what makes SmartXide one of the most versatile laser treatments available. In addition to the face, the SmartXide laser can be used to improve the skin on the neck and décolletage, too. SmartXide can treat many skin concerns related to sun exposure and aging, including:

Treatment With the SmartXide Laser

The advanced technology of the SmartXide system results in treatments that are up to 400% faster than other laser resurfacing options. The improved efficiency of the system means that fewer passes are required, resulting in overall improved comfort and convenience. Typically, a single treatment takes 15 to 20 minutes.

Dr. Mosher may apply a topical numbing cream before he begins your treatment, but many patients find that they don’t need it with SmartXide. As he applies the laser to the treatment area, your skin is simultaneously cooled to maintain your comfort.

After your treatment, you will experience redness, similar to a sunburn, for a few hours or few days depending on the treatment program. The intensity of the treatment can be fully customized to meet your needs, and the intensity will affect your downtime and recuperation. In general, recovery after a SmartXide treatment is much quicker and more comfortable than with competing technology. For patients who desire even less social downtime, gentler options are also available. During your consultation, Dr. Mosher gives you a more specific idea of what you can expect.

While many patients see results after just 1 treatment, Dr. Mosher often recommends a series of 2 to 4 monthly treatments for optimal results.
