A series of Morpheus8: Radio-Frequency enhanced Microneedling treatments can lift and tighten the skin on all areas of the body, improve the appearance of stretchmarks and scars and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

What is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 , by In Mode is the first and only Health Candada approved full-body fractional treatment designed to provide the deepest level of skin rejuvenation and collagen remodeling.

Morpheus8 is an energy enhanced microneedling treatment that delivers radio frequency energy to the dermis to remodel the skin and stimulate collagen production. With each treatment you will see softening of fine lines and wrinkles, increased skin tightening, and an improved appearance to scars and stretchmarks. It is safe to use on any area of the body as well as any skin type.

Plus, Morpheus8 doesn’t just address superficial tissue; it directs energy toward the adipose fat that is notorious for creating jowls, double chins, bra rolls, banana rolls and more.

How Does It Work?

Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation technique that creates tiny puncture wounds to the superficial layers of the skin. This small injury stimulates repair and an increase in the production of collagen and elastin. By itself, microneedling can achieve small improvements however, numerous treatments are needed to see worthwhile changes. It is easy to find Spa and Home grade microneedling devices online, however with medical-grade microneedling devices such as the Morpheus 8, the depth of  penetration can be customized and therefore the degree of change to the skin can be customized.

Morpheus8 also has the added benefit of the delivery of RF (radio-frequency) energy “into” and “under” the skin. Radio-Frequency is a type of energy that has been used for many years and is scientifically proven to deliver deep tissue heating to stimulate collagen and elastin production.

The customized depth of penetration and simultaneous delivery of RF energy provides an unmatched solution for a variety of frustrating age and skin damage related issues.

What does the “8” refer to?

Morpheus8 is the only device that has the ability to deliver RF energy as little as 1 mm into the skin surface or as deep as 8 mm, depending on the goals of treatment. The skilled physicians and aestheticians at YES will design a treatment protocol to meet your needs. Skin rejuvenation and firming treatments require topical anesthetic creams only, are performed by our skilled aestheticians and penetrate 1-4 mm. Treatments that require a deeper depth of penetration to address fat and improve cellulite are done by physicians and require injectable local anesthesia, or in combination with other surgical procedures in the operating room.

Who is a Candidate?

Morpheus8: RF Microneedling is a multi-faceted treatment that can treat all types of skin concerns on both men and women of all ages and skin types.  Customized treatment programs are created for each individual patient. Morpheus 8 treatments may be recommended alone or combined with dermal fillers, neurotoxins, lasers or surgery.

What to Expect

When you arrive for your treatment, our team will update your medical history and review the expected sensations, recovery and aftercare instructions. For more shallow treatments to rejuvenate your skin, we start with a thorough cleansing of your skin and the application of topical anesthetic ointment. While this anesthetic is working you may have other body area medical spa services performed, you can read or just relax. After approximately 45-60 minutes the ointment is removed and your skin is again cleansed.

A treatment test spot will be performed to ensure that you are comfortable and you are familiar with the treatment sensation. During the treatment you may feel pressure from the applicator and small pricks as the microneedles puncture the skin. Mild heat can be experienced with each pulse. Each pulse covers an area about the size of a postage stamp. During treatment some patient prefers having a stream of cool air blowing. Our goal is to make your treatment efficient and comfortable.  Once the entire treatment has been completed, your technician will apply a soothing lotion that helps the skin heal. Swelling, redness and tingling can occur for 1-3 days after treatment. Small pinpoint or larger bruises occur rarely. Make-up should not be applied for 24 hours. You can shower normally (avoiding overly hot water) and return to regular activities the following day. Of course we will also advise you about how to restart your home skin care routine.

The visible signs of having had a treatment will vary depending on patient factors, what area of the body is being treated and the treatment settings. Your treatment can be customized to meet your treatment goals and social downtime limitations.

Is it Painful?

Patient comfort is our top priority.. With experienced physicians determining your treatment parameters and pain management needs, most patients find Morpheus 8 treatments similar to having laser hair removal or dermal filler treatments. For unique situations, cold air therapy, vibration  and/or Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) can be administered during the treatment. Just ask your technician for more information.

How Many Treatments Are Needed To See Results?

It takes at least 6 weeks for your collagen to transform. This process is necessary for skin texture and tone to change. However, many patients see and feel changes earlier than 6 weeks.

For optimal results we recommend a series of 3 to 4 treatments. Treatments are performed every 4-6 weeks. At your consultation, a customized treatment plan will be developed for you based on the condition of your skin and the desired outcome.

How long will the results last?

When addressing concerns such as loose or crepey skin, maintenance treatments are recommended every 6-12 months. Some clients prefer to schedule maintenance treatments every 4 -6 months to maintain their results.

For scars, stretchmarks and cystic acne, maintenance is booked as required. The degree of improvement varies with each individual, however unless a new trauma is introduced to the treated area, maintenance may not be needed for scars & stretchmarks.

Are there any side effects?

There are few risks associated with this treatment. The delivery of Radio-frequency energy generates heat below the skin but a small blister or burn rarely occurs. That being said Morpheus8 has safety mechanisms in place to reduce this risk. The treatment is considered so safe that all skin colors are amenable to treatment.

Mild transient redness and swelling post treatment can be expected. Most patients are able to return to activities the next day but occasional swelling, redness or bruising persists for a few days. The microneedling aspect of treatment will leave tiny pin-point bleeding on the skin that seals within minutes of the treatment. A small crust will form and flake off in a few days. Mild tenderness or soreness may result from the absorption of RF energy and can be managed with over-the-counter pain medication. Our team will discuss the side affects you might experience during your consultation.
