Laser Hair Reduction
Many women and men are embarrassed and annoyed by unwanted hair on the body or face. Shaving, waxing, plucking or using chemical depilatories can be time consuming, messy and painful, and often they do not produce long-lasting results. Advanced technology makes life easier. That’s why laser hair removal is one of the Vancouver area’s most popular non-surgical cosmetic procedures. This quick, comfortable treatment can reduce hair growth in targeted areas, avoiding the inconvenience of other hair removal methods.
Visit YES Medspa in the Vancouver area for advanced laser hair removal. To get started, request a consultation or call our office at (604) 265-8093. Our medical director, Royal College-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Mathew Mosher, oversees all treatments and services.

How it Works
Our Vectus Laser uses laser energy to heat up pigment in the actively growing hair follicles without harming the surface of the skin. The damaged follicles are disabled and stop producing hair. The Vectus Laser offers a large spot size to cover large areas and a Skintel® Melanin Reader™ to measure pigment in the skin. This exciting laser technology has made laser hair removal faster, more effective, and more comfortable on most skin and hair types.

What to Expect
After you have consulted with our highly experienced technicians to determine whether laser hair reduction is right for you, Dr. Mosher will meet with you to discuss your treatment program. Next, hair in the area to be treated is closely trimmed, and the skin is covered with a cool gel. The technician passes the wand slowly over the treated area, delivering the optical and radiofrequency energy.
Treating small areas such as the face, underarms, bikini area or lower abdomen takes just a few minutes; large areas such as the legs or back are typically treated in less than half an hour. You might even have time to perk up your skin with one of our skin rejuvenation treatments. Laser hair removal treatments involve minimal discomfort, which has been described as a snapping sensation, followed by brief redness. We finish by applying a soothing cream with sunscreen.
While treated areas may look mildly sunburned, you can continue your normal activities after hair removal, including shaving and waxing between treatments. To avoid skin darkening (hyperpigmentation), be sure to avoid exposing the treated areas to the sun between treatments.
Approximately 6 treatments are necessary for optimal hair reduction because only the actively growing hairs are affected during each treatment session. Resting or dormant follicles will not be destroyed until the follicles begin producing mature hair. Treatment intervals are usually spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart to improve efficiency and achieve lasting hair-growth reduction.Back to Top
