Breast Implant Removal Before & After Case 188

This 47 year old patient had Style 410 cohesive gel implants positioned over 10 years ago. After many years, she felt her implants were beginning to feel uncomfortable.  Dr. Mosher discussed the revisional surgery options and this patient requested to have her implants removed.
A full capsulectomy was completed and her implants were removed. Post-operative photos were taken 8-months after surgery. The patient was very happy with the results and feels that her breasts look much more natural.

Dr. Mosher comments that breast implants permanently stretch and thin the breast tissue. Sometimes scar tissue distorts the implant shape or position and revisional surgery is needed. When there is adequate natural breast tissue present, implants can be removed and a breast lift can help to restore shape. More loose tissues and larger implants are more often associated with excessive tissue stretch.
